These letters (with some minor changes) are also sent automatically to each member after they join OSI. However, for one reason or another, not all members receive them.
You may change the content or structure of the letters to fit what you want to project, but you can not use deceptive copy or another person's name other than your own. You also must include an opt out message at the end so the recipient can cancel further messages from you.

Understanding the OSI Reverse Universal Marketing Principal

I thought I'd drop you a note just to explain
what the Reverse-Universal-Marketing (RUM)
principal is and why it's important for you
to know.
I'll break the RUM principal down to make it
easy for you to understand.
REVERSE
Means that you reverse the business building
process by earning an income before you make
an investment. Here's how...
You join the first core-business for free and
immediately earn a $10.00 sign up commission.
You then promote (give away) your OSI Strategy
to people by following the Accelerator Plan found
in the Instructions and Marketing Strategy
website.
As you refer people to your OSI system, a portion
of them will follow the exact strategy as you and
sign up for the first core-business, which means you'll
earn money each time they sign up. You'll also earn
a commission on anyone your referrals sign up down
10 levels! You can then use a small portion of your
profits and join the second core-business in the OSI

Tips to Increase Your OSI Referrals
Hi (insert referral's name),
The ONLY difference between the successful marketer and the
unsuccessful marketer is the successful marketers NEVER quit.
They understand how the "numbers game" works and know that it's
just a matter of time before it turns around.
It's feast or famine in this business and can change in a matter
of minutes. So NEVER give up because one minute you may think
that you'll never refer anyone, and the next minute you'll look to find
you've referred 10 new members. With that said... here are some
suggestions:
=> Make sure your website has your name and ID# listed above
the "join now" button at the bottom of the page.
=> Use different headlines. That's what gets people curious
enough to open your message. The headline is the MOST
IMPORTANT part of your message! If prospects aren't opening your
message, they'll never be your referrals either.
=> Make sure the body of your message is formatted properly. The
lines in your sentences should be no longer than 55 characters
(including spaces.) And you should use a lot of paragraphs to
break up the message to make it easier to read. Also, make sure
there's a blank line between paragraphs to help break it up.
=> Never use all CAPS in your messages. It's very hard to read
and also alerts spam filters to filter your ad to the spam file.
Using caps to emphasize certain words is OK.
=> Track your messages so you know what kind of click through
rates you're getting. The NPN business has an excellent
link tracking tool that you can use. But you have to be an
NPN member to use it.
=> Switch messages around and make sure your headlines match the
letters you use. If someone opens your message expecting one
thing and starts reading another, they'll delete it faster than
they clicked on it.
=> Use headlines that you would click on. How about the headline
that got you to click on the message that brought you to OSI?
=> Vary the times of day you promote. If you've been promoting in
the morning, start promoting in the evening, etc..
=> Register for, and go to the member forum and find out what is
working for other members, they can be very helpful.
=> If you send to 8 Safelists a day, up it to 12 or more Safelists a
day. Send to as many email addresses as possible each day
WITHOUT spamming.
=> NEVER sell. Give away the system. People don't like to be sold.
When I started OSI I had 0 members and just myself promoting. Four
months later, we had over 4,000 registered members. We now average
40 to 80 new members every single day. So the plan is obviously
working.
=> Join and send your messages to the Safelists in the Safelist
Directory. There are more than 4,500 to choose from. Send to the
Safelists that have the most members.
=> Join Traffic Hoopla and send to the 20 Safelists they rate as the

=> Never use the HTML feature in your messages. This formatts your
text into on large paragraph which makes it hard to read, looks very
unprofessional and eliminates any potential responses.
=> Keep in mind the season and time differences around the world. When
it's summer in the northern hemisphere, it's winter in the southern
hemisphere and visa versa. OSI has members from every continent on
the planet.
When it's summer the weather is nice and people are outside longer.
With exception to Australia and New Zealand, your major markets will be
the U.S., U.K., Canada and the rest of Europe and South America.
Traditionally, Autumn is the busiest time for people seeking opportunities.
Remember that when you're promoting.
=> If you don't sign anyone up in your first week or two - DON'T QUIT!
Eventually you'll start to refer more and more new members. But if you quit,
you'll never sponsor anyone.

Here's a story I like to sum up what I'm saying...
You may or may not have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful
distributors in Amway.
Some years ago, 20/20 (a U.S. investigative TV show) did a feature story
on Amway. In typical hit-journalism fashion, they spent 19 minutes
interviewing whiners and complainers -- several distributors who had
failed and showed their garages full of products they couldn't sell.
During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of
his palatial home. He was asked, "Mr. Britt, this business has obviously
worked for you. What's your secret?"
Bill Britt replied...
"There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said,
'No.' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all.
Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a
millionaire."

I'm no different than you, if I can do it - there is NO reason that you can't
do it. We all hit that road where it seems no one will sign up for your program.
The difference between the successful online marketers and those who jump
from business to business with no success is this...
...the successful marketers DON'T get discouraged -- they GET DETERMINED!
The unsuccessful marketers whine,complain and quit. It's everyone else's fault
but theirs.
Remember... Challenge doesn't build character -- it reveals it. You
either have it or you don't.
You have to continue to persist. If you quit you'll never know what could
have been. If you succeed, so does everyone else on your team. So it's
also in everyone's best interest for you to you succeed.

Quit! Give Up! You're Beaten!

Here's a poem that has brought me inspiration, I hope
it does the same for you.
The Race

"QUIT! GIVE UP! YOU'RE BEATEN!" They shout out and plead,
There's just too much against you now, this time you can't succeed.
And as I start to hang my head in front of failure's face,
My downward fall is broken by the memory of a race.
And hope refills my weakened will as I recall that scene.
For just the thought of that short race rejuvenates my being.
A children's race, young boys, young men; now I remember well.
Excitement, sure, but also fear; it wasn't hard to tell.
They all lined up so full of hope. Each thought to win that race
Or tie for first, or if not that, at least take second place.
And fathers watched from off the side, each cheering for his son.
And each boy hoped to show his dad that he would be the one.
The whistle blew and off they went, young hearts and hopes of fire.
To win, to be the hero there, was each young boy's desire.
And one boy in particular, his dad was in the crowd,
Was running near the lead and thought, "My Dad will be so proud."
But as he sped down the field across a shallow dip,
The little boy who thought to win, lost his step and slipped.
Trying hard to catch himself, his hands flew out to brace,
And mid the laughter of the crowd, he fell flat on his face.
So down he fell and with him hope. He couldn't win it now.
Embarrassed, sad, he only wished to disappear somehow.
But as he fell, his dad stood up and showed his anxious face,
Which to the boy so clearly said, "Get up and win that race!"
He quickly rose, no damage done - behind a bit, that's all,
And ran with all his mind and might to make up for his fall.
So anxious to restore himself to catch up and to win,
His mind went faster than his legs. He slipped and fell again.
He wished that he had quit before with only one disgrace.
I'm hopeless as a runner now, I shouldn't try to race.
But, in a laughing crowd he searched and found his father's face
That steady look that said again, "Get up and win the race."
So, he jumped up to try again. Ten yards behind the last.
If I'm to gain those yards, he thought, I've got to run real fast.
Exceeding everything he had, he regained eight or ten,
But trying so hard to catch the lead, he slipped and fell again.
Defeat! He lay there silently, a tear dropped from his eye.
There's no sense running anymore - three strikes I'm out - why try?
The will to rise had disappeared, all hope had fled away.
So far behind, so error prone, closer all the way.
I've lost, so what's the use, he thought, I'll live with my disgrace.
But then he thought about his dad, who soon he'd have to face.
"Get up," and echo sounded low, "Get up and take your place.
You were not meant for failure here, get up and win the race."
With borrowed will, "Get up," it said, "You haven't lost at all.
For winning is not more than this: to rise each time you fall."
So up he rose to win once more, and with a new commit,
He resolved that win or lose, at least he wouldn't quit.
So far behind the others now, the most he'd ever been.
Still he gave it all he had and ran as though to win.
Three times he'd fallen stumbling, three times he'd rose again.
Too far behind to hope to win, he still ran to the end.
They cheered the winning runner as he crossed first place.
Head high and proud and happy; no falling, no disgrace.
But when the fallen youngster crossed the line, last place.
The crowd gave him the greater cheer for finishing the race.
And even though he came in last, with head bowed low, unproud;
You would have thought he won the race, to listen to the crowd.
And to his Dad he sadly said, "I didn't do so well."
"To me you won," his father said, "You rose each time you fell."
And when things seem dark and hard and difficult to face,
The memory of that little boy helps me in my race.
For all of life is like that race, with ups and downs and all,
And all you have to do to win is rise each time you fall.
"QUIT! GIVE UP! YOU'RE BEATEN!" they still shout in my face,
But another voice within me says, "GET UP AND WIN THE RACE!"
